The Storm Within

I have published two novels on Kindle, The Black Flames and The Flames Turn White. This poem is from my latest poetry collection 'crawlers,' the first instalment of an ongoing series.

Don't go by the calm
I carry as I sleep,
I contain a storm within.

Don't trust the cool breeze
before the rain sweeps,
I am the lightning.

Don't fall for the drops of rain
as they break free,
I am the cloud that binds the thunder.

Don't see the parched earth
as it awaits relief,
I am the chaos that approaches.

If the quiet seems surreal,
await my awakening,
I will unleash the cries within.
